Destination Weddings are on the Rise

Lahaina, Hawaii (PRWEB) October 15, 2007 -- Every girl dreams about what her wedding will be like, and now more brides are dreaming about tying the knot away from home on a sandy beach with the sparkling blue ocean as a backdrop. Maui is one of the top locations for destination weddings but according to the most recent Condé Nast Bridal Group American Wedding Study, the average cost of a destination wedding is $25,806, which is too expensive for most brides.

"Destination weddings are the fastest-growing segment of the wedding business, and currently constitute an estimated 15 to 20 percent of all weddings," says Susan Moynihan, editor in chief of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine. "I predict this will only increase as the next generation of brides begin to wed. Our readers spend upwards of $20,000 per wedding, which doesn't take into account the additional money spent by their 50+ guests on everything from flights to accommodations to meals."

Located on Maui and known for offering guests competitive value driven rates, Kaanapali Beach Hotel is making destination weddings a reality for brides. The hotel is now offering two new weddings packages that make wedding planning easy and reachable. "We are unveiling a new weddings program at the hotel in response to rising consumer demands for affordable weddings in Maui," says Luana Paahana, Director of Sales and Marketing at Kaanapali Beach Hotel. "We expect to have a significant increase in visitors to the hotel who are coming for weddings upon the release of our new packages, which will have an emphasis on Hawaiian cultural touches and traditions for a truly memorable wedding day in paradise."

Kaanapali Beach Hotel's wedding packages include an oceanfront location, a Minister and Hawaiian Ceremony, Ukulele Serenade, photography package, fresh flower leis for the bride and groom, Hawaiian Wedding prayer amenity and in-room chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling wine. Packages start at $950. The hotel also has an on-site wedding planner for a more personalized wedding to fit any budget.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel leads the travel industry in preserving Hawaiian culture and offering guests a unique Hawaiian experience for more than 20 years with the most extensive Hawaiian cultural arts program, an Ohana Welcome Breakfast and a Farewell Lei Ceremony. The oceanfront property has spacious guestrooms, plenty of on-property activities including a nightly hula show and live music, a beach activities center equipped with snorkel gear, boogie boards and access to a catamaran offering sunset sails, and a variety of complimentary Hawaiian cultural activities from hula lessons to a cultural garden walk that explores native foods and traditional healing plants.

Got Guts? Get Green ($) Wedding Gifts!
We've heard the warning for years when it comes to asking for monetary wedding gifts - tacky, tacky, tacky! Even though a simple check saves time because it eliminates the need to shop for a wedding gift and wrap it, most people don't like being told in a wedding invitation that the happy couple prefers the cash - primarily because family and friends don't want the happy couple to know the exact dollar amount they're spending on the wedding gift. Aunt Geraldine and Uncle Horton aren't going to give you $50 when that spiffy vase Auntie found at a yard sale for $3 will look expensive in elegant gift wrap that probably cost more than the wedding gift.

Wedding Traditions For Brides
The wedding superstitions which we are all familiar with have descended to modern couples over hundreds if not thousands of years. These traditions often became popular as ways of giving the couple both a blessing and tokens of good luck. In that sense, they are often superstitious in nature. Wedding Invitation and Offset Consideration
A blushing bride and a handsome groom are always a good sight to see. It is every woman?s dream to have a great wedding. After all, they would marry their husbands only once so might as well make it an affair to remember. From the tiny table cloth design and color to the bride?s gown and wedding motif, everything needs careful planning and preparation. One of the most important and oftentimes overlooked details of preparing a wedding is the invitation. The invitation is an important piece of stationery that includes all information about the bride and groom, where the wedding will be held and other related details. But if the invitation is not properly designed and printed, the whole charm of the event can be ruined.

Wedding Invitatation RSVP Cards
When it comes to response/RSVP cards, the goal is to get a response. Whether selecting a card with a self-addressed, either by hand or computer printed labels, and pre-stamped envelope or an economic post card with your address on one side and the guest response on the other, do what works best for you.
