12 Photography Luminaries Join Think Tank Photo's Design Board

Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) August 20, 2007 -- Doug Murdoch, president and lead designer of Think Tank Photo, announced today that 12 respected and discerning photographers have joined the company's Design Board (http://www.thinktankphoto.com/about_ttp.html). These luminaries have agreed to provide Think Tank Photo's designers with their carrying solution needs, input about what's working and what's not, and detailed information about the challenges they face in carrying a wide variety of complex and often heavy photographic equipment in different settings.

Think Tank Photo's design board is by invitation only and members serve for six months to two years. The new Design Board's members are:

? Helen Atkinson (Photojournalist / UK) -- Helen undertakes editorial, publicity and commercial work as well as private commissions, on a national and international basis.

? Daniel Beltra (Photojournalist / Spain) - Daniel has been staff photographer for EFE the Spanish National Agency and the correspondent for Gamma (Paris) in Spain. In 1990, he began his collaboration with Greenpeace becoming one of this NGO's main assignment photographers.

? Paula Bronstein (Getty Images / Asia) - Based in Bangkok since 1998, Paula has covered news and feature stories throughout Asia. She has been awarded numerous honors for her work, which appears daily throughout the world's media.

? Nick Didlick (Photojournalist / Canada) -- Based in Vancouver, Canada, Nick has arrived first at many global news events that shaped our world. From Super Power Summits, natural and man-made disasters, to the Olympics he has been at the center of the action capturing the moment. Nick is a commercial and editorial photographer and digital workflow consultant.

? Robert Hanashiro (USA Today) -- Robert has been a working photojournalist for over 30 years, the last 18 as USA Today's Los Angeles-based staff photographer, where he covers sports and news and shoots portraits of entertainment personalities.

? Vince Laforet (New York Times) -- Vincent is a 2001 Pulitzer Prize Winner and a contract photographer for The New York Times. He has regularly been called on to cover major news and sporting events around the world ranging from natural disasters, international conflicts, to the Olympics.

? Caryn Levy (PGA TOUR) -- Caryn Levy has been an award-winning editorial, advertising and corporate freelance sports photographer for more than two decades. She has traveled the world shooting major events such as Wimbledon, the French Open, Australian Open, US Open (both tennis and golf), the Super Bowl, Indy 500, Daytona 500, NBA All-Star Game, Goodwill Games and US Olympic Festival.

? Renee Lynn (Wildlife / outdoor) -- Renee, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a widely published stock photographer specializing in nature and wildlife. Her portfolio includes work for Audubon, the Sierra Club and National Geographic, as well as covers for magazines such as Outside, Time and National Wildlife Federation.

? John Mabanglo (European Press-Photo Agency) -- John is regularly assigned to major sporting and news events around the world. He has been working as a photographer since 1986. He was awarded 1st place sports action in the 2006 World Press Photo competition.

? Brad Mangin (Freelance, Sports Illustrated) -- Brad is a freelance sports photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area. He shoots regular assignments for Sports Illustrated and Major League Baseball Photos. He has been a photographer for almost 20 years.

? Don Miralle (Getty Images) -- Donald has received numerous accolades for his work including 1st Place World Press 2006, 2nd Place World Press 2005, First Place Pictures of the Year International 2005 & 2006, NPPA Best of Photojournalism Sports Photojournalist of the Year 2006 & 2007, Sportsshooter Photographer of the Year 2005 & 2006, SPD National Headlines Award and NFL Hall of Fame 2001, 2003 & 2004, to name a few.

? Justin Sullivan (Getty Images) -- Justin covers a wide range of news and sports events throughout the United States. He has covered numerous professional sports playoff games, and overseas conflict and national politics.
