Less Stressful Portrait and Family Photography Sessions Offered by Local Lifestyle PhotographerRevere, MA (Bluehost) July 30, 2007 -- Parents love beautiful portraits of their children. They take them to the mall milestone after milestone and year after year to document their growth and remember all the phases of their lives. Although they say it's worth it, many parents dread the actual process of getting them done. "I really don't look forward to getting the girls all dressed up, trying to keep them clean and trekking to the mall only to sit in a crowded waiting room. By the time it's their turn, they are cranky, their clothes are all wrinkled, I'm frustrated and usually end up less than thrilled with the results," said Dimitra Maniatis, a mom of two from Watertown, MA. "But it's an evil we need in order to capture those milestones in portraits." Portrait Photographer Maria Vasallo of Maria Vasallo Photography of Revere, MA, is changing all that with her on-location Lifestyle photography. "My goal is to photograph children and families and their expressions in the most purest of forms and provide a comfortable and fun experience while doing it," she says. Maria travels to her clients' homes or locations of choice where they feel most at ease and steers away from studio work. "This is especially important when photographing babies and children, who don't really like to be kept in a room with lights flashing in their faces. In order to get those sincere expressions and capture who they really are, it is crucial for them to feel comfortable in familiar environments." Maria's style of photography is focused on depicting true life moments as opposed to the traditional posed and typically forced-smile portraits. "I never say 'cheese.' I try to capture those magical moments that pass quickly -- the split seconds that sometimes go unnoticed. A new dad marveling at his precious newborn's tiny little toes or the look of wonder in a toddler's face when discovering something new," adds Maria. Maria's product offerings are not limited to simple portraits. Her clients enjoy a selection of beautiful and timeless portrait products such as canvasses, collages and storyboards, birth announcement and holiday cards, portrait purses and bags and even jewelry. "People want something more than just snapshots to tuck away in their albums. So I offer wall portraits --stunning pieces that are to be displayed in their living rooms, dining rooms and foyers," adds Maria. She even offers the Designer Collections, which is a wall display portrait collection to help her clients create designer-look collections on their walls. "I work with them to fill a specific space on their wall and recommend sizes and placement, and then offer a discount on a package. This is very popular because it provides the client with the look and the portraits. They don't have to do anything but frame and hang their pieces without the having to measure and figure out where to hang what," she says. "My husband and I can't say enough about Maria and our experience with Maria Vasallo Photography. It was so convenient, particularly with our newborn, to have her come right to our house. The shoot was very relaxing and Maria paid close attention to our baby, even during the times when we weren't specifically shooting, to capture those spontaneous moments. Our photos were absolutely gorgeous and we have gotten nothing but raves and compliments from family and friends. She has really given us moments in time with our son that are priceless and I sing her praises everywhere I go." - Lisa DeFrancesco of Quincy, MA. Maria Vasallo's passion for photography began at a very early age when she purchased her first camera with birthday money at the age of 10. She has taken various photography and darkroom courses throughout her college and adult life, but it was the birth of her first son over 6 years ago that ignited it once again. She hung up her career in marketing and started her business in 2006 and she has dabbled in wedding and commercial photography as well. Her next big venture is to enter the high school senior portrait market. "Bringing my style of photography to this market seems like the right thing to do. Some folks are happy with the posed studio portraits, but young adults really love the outdoor, casual and hip look because it is truly a reflection of them, which is what I will offer," she says.
