Beginner's Guide to Studio Photography Lighting Posted at Adorama's AIRC

New York, NY (PRWeb) December 19, 2006 -- In its ongoing efforts to educate photographers and help them improve their skills, the AIRC at Adorama Camera, Inc. has debuted Studio Lighting Basics series of how-to articles, designed help aspiring studio photographers decide which lighting gear best serves their needs. "What are Monolights?" is the first in this four-part series and describes the benefits of these self-contained studio flash units. (http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=academy&article=120406&refby=press_monolights).

"There's lots of confusion about studio lighting equipment," notes author Joe Farace. "Some photographers think it's too complicated and too expensive but in reality it can be neither." In the article, Farace describes the different kinds of moonlights available, defines the key terminology and recommends specific light units.

"Joe Farace is not just a veteran professional photographer with plenty of studio experience, but he's also an experienced writer," notes AIRC editor Mason Resnick. "In this article, he takes a rather technical subject and puts it in terms that photographers who are just starting out in studio photography can understand. That's a huge service to the photographic community."

The article is part of Adorama's ongoing efforts to help consumers improve their photography. With the advent of digital photography, cameras and equipment are becoming more popular, and more people have questions about how to use their gear. Adorama is addressing this need with its AIRC - Adorama Imaging Resource Center (www.adorama.com/airc&refby=press_monolights), an on-line resource for photographers at all levels, from snapshooters to professionals.

Online photo magazine at a retail site?
The AIRC - Adorama Imaging Resource Center is quickly becoming a choice destination for photographers at all levels of experience who want to improve their picture-taking and image-editing skills, features how-to photography articles, buying guides and breaking news about the photography industry, written by a team of top photography experts.

Why would Adorama, a well-respected New York-based camera retailer, publish what is essentially an online photo magazine? Editor Mason Resnick says, "we believe the more information and knowledge we can provide, the more people will trust Adorama both as a reliable information source and as a place where they can feel comfortable buying their photographic gear."
