Publisher of The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages Honored as "Associate Member of the Year" by Industry Group

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2008 -- Laurie Morgan, publisher of The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages (http://www.weddingyellow.com) was named "2007 Associate Member of the Year" by the Association for Wedding Professionals (http://www.afwpi.com). Morgan and her popular wedding directory and planning tool were similarly honored in 2005.

Presented in a ceremony earlier this year in Sacramento, the award recognizes Morgan and her publication for creating an effective promotional avenue for wedding vendors, and for good business practices and professional ethics.

The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages is a distinctive print publication and web site that offers brides a simpler way to shop for their weddings, and, by extension, offers wedding vendors a highly effective means of promotion. Introduced in Sacramento in 2003, The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages provides wedding planning information for Greater Sacramento, the Bay Area and the Central Valley in California, and has announced that a new edition for the Greater Hampton Roads area of Virginia will debut later this year.

Said Laurie Morgan, "There's no greater honor than to be recognized by the community we serve. Of course, now we're motivated to try even harder in the future to deliver the most useful tool possible for brides -- because that's what makes our product work for the wedding vendors who advertise with us."

About The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages:

The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages is a comprehensive directory of resources designed to simplify the wedding planning process. It combines the best-researched listing of local resources and contact information with features of a planner - so brides can not only shop for vendors, but also take notes and track appointments. What's more, the book is highly portable, so brides can take it with them whenever they're shopping for wedding goods or meeting with wedding vendors.

The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages is a free publication available in print and on the Internet at www.weddingyellow.com. The Wedding & Special Event Yellow Pages web site includes several companion services to assist brides, including the Request for Information system (http://www.weddingyellow.com/RFP.shtml), The Wedding Yellow Shop, and Wedding Timesavers.

Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary in Style
My parents always downplay their wedding anniversaries. They've been together for over 30 years but seldom exchange gifts. It's not uncommon for both of them to forget their anniversary and only days later say, "Oh, by the way, happy anniversary for last week." I don't understand, I've always thought that wedding anniversaries are special events in the lives of married couples. Ideally, they testify to the endurance of love. They also provide opportunities to look back on your marriage and marvel at how far you've progressed as a couple, and the obstacles that you've overcome. They give you time to celebrate all of the good times that you've had and to look forward to the years ahead. I can't help it, I'm an incurable romantic. Plus they're...
